Job Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains major cable system and structures such as broken lashing, replacing, or re-sagging aerial strand, pole transfers, down-guys, aerial to underground conversion, substructure repairs and cable replacements related to system outages, maintenance, rebuilds and emergencies or hazards.
- Reads and interprets work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in a sequence of the task.

Bore Operator

Our operating unit provides aerial, underground, substructure, ISP, wireless, telecom engineering, and splicing services and we are looking for a Bore Operator to join our team. The Directional Bore Operator will be responsible for operating the directional drill. They will set up and complete the drilling of variable-sized underground holes and pull back the required conduit. They will work with an Outside Plant Project Manager and Locators to complete job requirements from start to finish on outside plant projects including digging boring pit, directional boring, pulling back of conduit, splicing of conduit sections, pulling giber through conduit, setting hand holes, backfilling, and seeding, core drilling, and potholing.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up of equipment including the drill, water tanks, and grounding of the machine.
- Operate drilling equipment and various other construction equipment.
- Confirms with locator or leads the bore path to drill.
- Drilling of the predetermined path to the exit point.
- Continue communication with the locator to confirm the location of the drill head.
- Assist in potholing and remediation.
- Assist with setting hand holes and completing tie-ins.
- Assist with the installation of proper pulling gear and hook-up product.
- Conduct post-job quality checks.
